There is no known cure to the disease however, a gluten free diet will result to improvement of the symptoms. In order not to suffer from the signs and symptoms of the Celiac disease, individuals who have the disease must refrain from eating food containing gluten. It is a dietician’s responsibility to handle the special diet for those with this disease. Dieticians have the knowledge and skill in food and nutrition. The dietician will handle the role of assisting the patient in determining the foods containing gluten and even enhance his self discipline to follow the diet given. If someone in the family is suffering from the disease, you should also avoid gluten. This is to avoid experiencing the signs and symptoms of the disease. With the gluten free diet, the person may have the potential for improvement within several weeks. For the individual with the Celiac disease he need to be responsible enough to employ the gluten free diet for the rest of his life. If the individual fails to follow the gluten free diet, then he may be facing the adverse effects of the disease which in the long term will severely damage his digestive system and lead to a deteriorating health condition.
